What type of products will work in each bin?
The products you want to sell will vary by location, and some products will sell better than others given customer preferences and availability. We encourage you to visit with one of the many natural foods / candy / coffee and tea suppliers, who can help you with your bulk product selection. This quick reference guide to help you decide what type of bin you should select based on general product type. These are guidelines, not absolutes, based on our experience.
How long can the food stay in the bin before it becomes stale (i.e. are the bins air tight)?
We don’t sell bins as a storage unit. We sell bins as part of a fixture system to merchandise food. The bins have rubber, NSF certified, seals that help keep air out, and if you’re not turning your inventory once a month, bulk dispensing bins may not be the best merchandising method for you.
Where can I get instruction files for my products?
Visit our download section here.
Do you have replacement parts for your bins?
Yes, you can buy individual parts and pieces. Our only requirement is we have a $300 minimum, so keep that in mind when you order.
Can I use my own shelving for the bins, or do I have to buy your shelving as well? Do the bins hang on a wall?
Obviously, we test our shelving systems (fixtures) and know what the weight bearing capacities are for our products, but we also understand the economics and desire for you to use your own shelving system. That being said, if you use your own shelving system, each shelf span must support, without sagging, 25 lbs (11kg) for each 3 gallon bin, 45 lbs (20kg) for each 5 gallon bin, and 150 lbs (68kg) for the 12 gallon bin (90# (40kg) rated capacity). A 48” by 12” deep metal grocery gondola shelf is typically rated to hold 500 lbs, but check with the manufacturer. If you wall-mount a shelf, heavy duty brackets every 16” on center screwed to the shelf is required. If you design your own custom cabinets, contact our professional designer if you have any questions. Failure to follow these recommended guidelines could lead to serious injury, or even death.
How do I clean the bins?
Download and follow the cleaning instructions.
Can the bins stack on top of one another?
No.
Do you have any different looking gravity bins than that which everyone carries?
Our bins have been the industry leader since 1982. In that time, numerous competitors, mainly former customers, have taken our bin and tried to copy its form and function. We do consider it a complement to our time and effort into perfecting the bulk merchandising standard. If you have ideas on how we could modify the look, or improve upon its design, feel free to contact us.
What is a case? How many bins will fit in a box? How much does each box weigh?
This will depend on the product.
